Complaints

How to raise a problem with roofing booked through this site, what happens and by when, and the Mississippi offices available if it is not resolved.

Version dated October 2026.

Getting it to us

Ring (228) 364-1994 and open with the fact that this is a complaint, or put it in writing to hello@gulfportroofandstorm.com. We need the property address, when the work or the estimate happened, what was agreed, what actually occurred, and any photographs. Flag immediately if a crew is still on your roof, or if water is entering the building as you ring — neither of those goes through the written procedure, they get handled that day.

Disputed work

Nobody argues about a roof from the ground. If the dispute is about how the work was done, somebody goes up and photographs it first, and the written outcome is built on that rather than on competing recollections. A remedy covered by the contractor's workmanship warranty or by a manufacturer warranty on the materials is arranged at no charge to you. One that falls outside both is explained, in the written outcome, with the reasoning set out.

Where responsibility sits

Roofing is carried out by independent contractors under the agreement you hold with them, described at referral marketing disclosure. Since the choice of contractor was ours, a complaint about their work belongs here, and we take it up with them on your behalf and stay with it until it closes rather than handing you their number.

Insurance claims

Where a complaint concerns a wind, hail or storm claim, the coverage decision belongs to the carrier. We document damage accurately and do not characterise it to influence an outcome, and we never absorb, rebate or discount a deductible. Complaints about an insurer's own conduct go to that carrier's procedure and to the Mississippi Insurance Department at mid.ms.gov.

Permits and code

If your complaint concerns permitting or whether work met code, the municipality that issued or should have issued the permit is the right authority: Gulfport Urban Development at 1410 24th Avenue on 228-868-5715, Ocean Springs Building Department on 228-875-6712, or Biloxi Building Division on 228-435-6270.

If we do not resolve it

You are never obliged to use this procedure and nothing in it limits other remedies. The Mississippi State Board of Contractors at msboc.us takes complaints about licensed contractors and about work above the statutory thresholds. The Mississippi Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division at attorneygeneral.ms.gov handles consumer complaints generally. Keep your written estimate and invoice, because every one of those offices asks for them first. No term here limits a right you hold under your agreement with the contractor or under Mississippi law.

Why records are kept

Complaints are logged with the actions taken and the dates, and reviewed when deciding which contractors continue to receive assigned work. A pattern ends the arrangement.

Water coming in, or shingles gone after the wind?

Tarping goes on first so the deck stops taking water, then the roof is inspected and documented properly. Across Gulfport, Biloxi and the coast, with the figure agreed before anything is torn off.
